Tykes
Itsy BItsy Yoga Facilitator Training
As seen in Parents Magazine, PEOPLE, Yoga Journal, CNN, and USA Today,
Itsy Bitsy Yoga® for Tykes offers a fascinating flow of unique and
developmentally-centered yoga poses, songs, stories, and games through
which parents and children can deepen their bond. You can help our young
children learn healthy habits by bringing Itsy Bitsy Yoga® classes
to your community! This two-day Tyke training with Itsy Bitsy Yoga founder,
Helen
Garabedian,
prepares you to become a Certified Itsy Bitsy Yoga Facilitator (CIBYF)
for 21-month to 4-year-olds along with their parents. If you practice
yoga or already work with preschool-aged children, you will love this training
because it offers the most heart-centered and developmentally-sound child/parent
yoga training available!
Early Childhood
Development & Yoga
Now that tykes can mimic, walk and talk, Itsy Bitsy Yoga uses those skills
to enhance their well-being, body awareness and self-confidence. You
will understand a child’s physical, cognitive, social and verbal
development as it applies to 2-4 year olds and yoga. We will discuss
the role yoga plays in supporting the ongoing development of motor skills.
We will also explore the numerous ways yoga can benefit this age group.
Teaching
Itsy Bitsy Yoga®
As an Itsy Bitsy Yoga facilitator you will know exactly how to honor
and appeal to independent tykes. Each Tyke class is personalized around
the curiosities and interests of the child participants. You will learn
how to properly teach and sequence more than 50 age-appropriate poses,
group activities, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. You
will discover how the interactive Itsy Bitsy Yoga Sing & Do Rhymes
can keep busy 2- 4 year olds eager to participate in yoga. Understand
how to guide parent participants to playfully engage their children with
yoga in and outside of class.
Class Building
IBY provides the tools needed to build a weekly curriculum that will
keep tykes and their parents returning session after session! Once
we thoroughly examine and practice the poses, we will watch and discuss
videos of Helen Garabedian teaching Tyke yoga classes. You will get
specific details on how to promote yourself as a CIBYF, organize
classes, sequence poses, include props, and incorporate themes. You
will learn behavior management techniques that support a positive,
non-competitive class environment that encourages self-respect, friendship
and freedom of expression.
